Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran has said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) stands with its flood-affected brothers in this time of trial. The entire IUB community—including faculty, staff, students, and alumni—is working shoulder to shoulder with the provincial government and district administration for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of the IUB Flood Relief Cell at the Abbasia Campus. The registration of student volunteers is ongoing, and so far more than 500 students have been enrolled.
Head of the IUB Flood Relief Cell, Professor Dr. Muhammad Asif Naveed Ranjha, said that through coordination with the National and Provincial Disaster Management Cells, Higher Education Commission, Punjab Higher Education Commission, and Punjab Higher Education Department, the university’s central Flood Relief Cell has been made operational.

Teams from Islamia University Bahawalpur are conducting surveys of flood-affected areas along the Sutlej River to establish medical camps, veterinary camps, and psychological rehabilitation centers. The Vice Chancellor instructed that arrangements for food, clothing, and medicines for flood victims be ensured. In this regard, university teams will visit the affected areas.
